kharjak
I have attached some renderings. I am new to V-ray These were rendered on Rebusfarm with 4 RP. I tried upping the RP to 25 and though it improves, I'm still getting really grainy renderings. I am not sure which settings to change to get the image to be less grainy. Can anyone spot the offending settings? Any advice? Thank you CGArchitect!
Scott Schroeder
You are using progressive rendering, so you need to make sure you have enough time to let the render clean up your image. That being said, your progressive settings are out of whack. There is no need for 1000 subdivs, 100 will suffice. Just leave everything at the default values and set your time as your limiting factor, 240 minutes should be more than enough to clean up your image. With progressive, you don't need to worry about your light and material subdivs either, leave all of those at 8 and let the render clean them up. Finally, with progressive and Rebus, that's probably not the best combo. What I think is happening is that you are only getting so many minutes per render point and you are getting no where near the time you need to properly clean up the image. If you want to use Rebus, and I highly discourage that for still images unless you are in a severe time crunch, it's best to go with adaptive rather than progressive. If you don't want to fiddle with settings, the 1/100 Universal method works very well. However, it may be hard to estimate that time for Rebus purposes so, again, avoid using online services. kharjak
Thank you Scott! In the future I'll keep progressive at 100 subdivs. I will use Adaptive and see how it comes out.
