Jesper Pedersen
Hi, We are having problems restricting the movement of elements that we want to move when we are working on an object's sub-objects (ie vertices, faces, polygons etc). In 2015 we would just hit F5, F6 or F7 to restrict movement to the X, Y and Z axes respectively. In 2016, this works fine for whole objects, but when we try to use it within the sub-objects of an item it does not work!? Any solutions would be very welcome as this is really essential to us. Thanks Jesper Pedersen http://www.pedersenfocus.ie
Francisco Penaloza
yes small changes big differences You need to "pres and hold" F5 F6 F7 to force the movement in each axes respectively. If not anywhere you put the cursor over the cross gizmo it will overwrite the direction, (it get highlighted depending X,Y,Z)
Jesper Pedersen
Hi Francisco, Ok, thanks a million. We'll try that. Hopefully it works smoothly ..I'm sure Autodesk have tested the feature and changed it for the better Thanks again, Jesper Pedersen http://www.pedersenfocus.ie

Corey Beaulieu
Have you enabled axis constraints? Right click on the snaps icon> go to the options tab> tick enabl axis constraints. Otherwise I havent noticed the issue myself.
Josef Wienerroither
have never seen this issue either ( but i don't use snaps very often ) Another way to restrict axis movement is clicking on your axis on the transform gizmo, hit the "Lock Selection" toggle ( usualy the spacebar ) and your transform is locked to that previously picked axis, even if you drag-move the mouse cursor anywhere on the viewport. Quite handy if you have a lot of constrained transforms to do, as you don't have to care for where your mousecursor is currently located
