ryanjadoui
Hello CGArchitect users, I have a heavy scene to render for a CGI trailer so I converted a bunch of bitmaps to Mipmapped tiled TIF, and also translate bitmaps nodes to VrayHDRI nodes. It converted a bunch of .JPG to .TX (TIF) format (using makeTX via Pixamoon "Bitmap Tracking / Resizing" plugin), but when I render an object, Vray tells me it failed to load the file. Chaosgroup says it supports tiled TIF since Vray 2, using format .tx . I already had an issue with TIF formats using VrayHDRI, it reads the file in the VrayHDRI (I can "view image" in my VrayHDRI) but Vray couldn't have it rendered in my scene. My problem is half resolved as it works well with converted tiled EXR though, but they're more-than-twice heavy (16 bits ZIP compression) and I'm doing it essentially to optimize my RAM because it will be farmrendered. I'm using Vray 3.1, 32go RAM on 3DS Max 2014.
