Description:

Dear all,

I have attached some exterior images that I have created recently for a project I'm working on. It is an example for a proposed property in Perth, Australia. This property is a beautiful large 2 storey, 4 bedroomed home with 2 bathrooms, a study, laundry, kitchen, upper and ground floor living area, double garage, alfresco area and a small pool.

A few things I'm disappointed with so far. I wanted to create a nice blue GI light but was unable to get the look I was after. However, I still think that the result I got was an improvement on my previous work. I am not happy at all with the close-up shots though. I am guessing that the main problem is more detail and randomness is needed in the textures, and more work needs to be done on the reflections?

Any comments and/or criticisms would help me greatly.

Thank you so much.

Thank you so much, Poly. Great comments and they give me new areas to work on. One area that I am trying to focus on at the moment is displacements. I've only recently started using them and the results I'm getting are not good. I guess I need to practice them a lot more. I really do appreciate your comments. It can sometimes be hard to get good constructive feedback. Thanks again.

I see. Yes I have been using something which I think may be similar - a vray displacement modifier in Maya to specific pieces of geometry. I just think I don't understand it well enough and it will take a bit of fiddling. It is cool that you are in Poland. I lived in Poland for a few years and knew many really good artists when I was there. A great place.
