philippgosch
Hey all, I'm a architect student from Austria, studying for 1 1/2 years now. I'm quite familiar with CAD programs / BIM-modeling but I struggle with post production / generating good presentations of my projects. we sadly don't learn anything photoshop / render related. so my question: does any one have good free basic "photoshop for architects type" guide / tutorial / videos recommendations for me? i would love to dig into that material but i struggle to find free architecture related stuff. any tip would help! thanks! beestee
Most of what you will find for architectural renderings will be contained in breakdown or making-of articles. A quick search found this series, which I will be reading through myself now: http://www.ronenbekerman.com/12-postwork-style-architectural-visualization-tutorials/ This book, while not free helped me quite a bit, and I still reference it often despite the "you can't judge a book by it's cover" factor: https://shop.3dtotal.com/books/other-books/photoshop-for-3d-artists-volume-1.html And then there is the ultimate making-of: http://thirdseventh-book.com/the-book/ Edited July 23, 2015 by beestee
Corey Beaulieu
I think what Benjamin suggested will help you understand how compositing elements works and workflows which is a good chunk of the battle, but the rest is opinion and adjustment layers. Bothe for local color adjustments and your overall color grade. For boosting your opinion I would simply spend a lot of time observing good photography of architecture, but for adjustments I found this to be useful a while back: http://phlearn.com/free-tutorials It isn't architecture, but it's great information. Peter M. Gruhn
http://www.hwb.com/gruhn/howto/workshops/ The "People In Spaces" lecture might have something of use you can pull out.
kevinolsen
Alex has a great site that you may like. His style is more Photoshop oriented than accurate rendering. https://visualizingarchitecture.com/tutorials/ Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
