javierseger
I have a main workstation and a second computer I use as a render node. I used to have them side by side connected over an Ethernet cable, but I had to put the node on another room. I tried to connect the computers using a router, but it turns out that it is really slow and doesn't allow me to do a distributed rendering. I am now looking to buy a "cheap" gigabit router. From what I've researched I am between: - TP-LINK TL-WDR3600 - D-Link HD Media Router 2000 DIR-827 Does any of you have any experience with them for a render farm? Dimitris Tolios
If you only need wired GBit conectivity, I think something like the Netgear GS105 and similar (older) models from Netgear are pretty fool-proof and very reliable. We use those in our small office.
