Jim Mann
This may yet be an issue with my camera rather than my capture method but here goes. I want to capture some video footage to dome some basic rotoscoping work in Combustion. I have been using Premiere pro for the capture from a JVC GR-DV700EK mini DV cam. EVerything is fine apart from the horrible jaggies that appear at the edge of moving objects. I am guessing that it has soemthing to do with fields but can't be 100% sure. Does anyone know if it is possible to capture footage from mini DV and get a smooth edge result that can be tracked and roto'd properly? Thanks in advance Jim

Jim Mann
Hi Strat, Do you know whether it is a limitation of the camera or the capture? I can get round it by scaling the footage 50% but then I am stuck with 360 wide footage. Jim
STRAT
as far as i remember it's a simple switch to check when importing or exporting. some of the videos i used to capture/create i remember literally being able to turn fields on/off for matching up. quizzy
its under interpret footage: select upper fields first
Jim Mann
Cool, It is still interlaced when I capture but I can then export a de-interlaced version from Premiere. Thanks Jim
