Devin Johnston
I've been using Red Giant plugins for Adobe Photoshop, Premiere and After Effects for years and up until now I've been pretty happy with their software. That changed today when I decided to upgrade to CC 2015 and discovered that one of their plugins I use all the time (Looks) has been discontinued. They gave me some story about how Photoshop doesn't support some feature their plugin used to render it's effects. Needless to say I wasn't contacted by them and had to find this out for myself. Add to that the representative I was talking to didn't really seem to care that this decision was going to cost me a lot of pain in the near future. I'm pretty upset and initially started to blame myself for depending on a plugin so heavily. Then I started to think that maybe it wasn't my fault because we all use plugins to speed up our workflows, it a normal part of this work. It still doesn't change the fact that now I have to find a way to re-create what had just yesterday been a few easy mouse clicks. I advise anyone using this software to think twice about continuing to do so, Red Giant doesn't seem very interested in helping their customers or keeping them informed. Scott Schroeder
Never mind on my original post. I read their supported apps wrong. Crap, it does look like they have dropped Photoshop all the way now. Edited August 12, 2015 by VelvetElvis

Devin Johnston
This seems like a dumb move on their part, they made their software faster but in the process they made it incompatible with the largest and most widely used image editing programs in the world. Makes since.
John Dollus
you can drop your PSD into AE as a comp and use Looks there. Seems your distress should be directed toward Adobe more than Red Giant.
Devin Johnston
It's hard to get mad a Adobe it doesn't look like they've changed anything, Red Giant just decided to re-write their plugin in a way that makes it incompatible.
kriscabrera
am not to worried about it, i like to do major paints and matte stuff in photoshop but as far as looks i do it in after effects, i like it this way cause if i ever have to adjust any mattes or paints when i save the PSD after effects reads it and looks is still their unchanged. plus if you doing alot of heavy looks in photoshop it could take a toll on your comp
