komyali Posted August 17, 2015 Share Posted August 17, 2015 (edited) I have car, brakes need to go with chasy but also have Z move with wheels and rotation Z? How to do that, my head hurts. Solution is double link with different inherit but that is not possible... I linked it with dummy, everything is fine till I went on hill, then my brake stay in horizontal position because dumy is unchecked inherit, and it doesnt follow chasy of car but wheel. So i want my back wheels to follow chasy in every rotation and moving, but wheels in Z axis. Front wheels follow chasy in moving, but wheels in Z rotating and Z moving ? Francisco Penaloza Posted August 17, 2015 Share Posted August 17, 2015 I think you need to sketch a hierarchy to properly assign movements to all your parts, it is not easy, but it is doable I'm not sure how you are animating this, but I remember 3d Max help did have a good tutorial using reactor to animate a car with some part, maybe you can try to search in youtube or something like that. 1 dummy can control the position of all the car parts (moving forward, backward, up and down etc), then a second dummy can control rotation of wheels ( turn left right) assuming that rotation moving forward or backward is automatic. A separate dummy simulating the wheel bounce and also the Break pad without making it rotate. I am pretty sure there may be a script or plugin that can do most of this already. I usually use this script 75ive it is very good for what I need, animate several cars at the same time, but it is also good to be used on hero car shots, I never go in detail to show car parts moving but this at least will control most of the car basic movements. komyali Posted August 17, 2015 Author Share Posted August 17, 2015 Madcar can do this perfectly, my problem is breaks, I attach them to wheels, and they follow wheels perfectly, but also rotate with them, when I uncheck x rotation i inherit properties, some wierd jumps are happening, maybe because mad car has also side rotation of wheel, and it has wierd impact on inherit...
