danieldeli
Hi Guys! Im a newbie, and learning vizualisation through a tutorial. I use the 2016 version of Max, and I get different results than in the video. My guess is because I use the new standard physical camera which has replaced the Vray physical one. When I render this is how it looks: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v7oexobisf3pke0/Screenshot%202015-08-19%2023.18.42.png?dl=0 What do you think? Corey Beaulieu
In what video? It looks like you do not have materials or GI or any exposure on your camera. The Physical Camera has a couple of quirks if you are trying to match an old tutorial. Like you have to switch Frame to Second in the Shutter Speed section, and you will want to switch the ISO setting to manual so that you can control that there as well. Last, make sure that "Per Camera" is checked on the environment rollout (8). The rest will soften when you turn on GI, dial in your exposure, and then add materials or at least a white override material to the whole scene. danieldeli
Thanks, it looks fine now. The video is called: Udemy - 3ds Max Pro in 6 Hours It goes through a complete building visualisation from ground up.
Francisco Penaloza
Well I guess there is something wrong with that tutorial. if everything is well explained you should be able to replicate his scene with no problems. Also considering that the default values of VRay will give you a decent scene just clicking rendering. Review your steps, do what Corey recommend and try again, and again and again. Chaos group website also have basic tutorials explaining each component of V-Ray, sometimes it is easy start with simple scene then move up to something more complicated. Best luck.
