Render Problem

Hi, I've recently started having an issue with a certain file. I render using a render farm. The image starts rendering fine but its gets part way through and suddenly stops rendering the geometry, only rendering the environment background (which in this instance was just white)

 

This doesn't happen when only rendering locally though. It is a particularly heavy scene as well, could this have something to do with it?

Sounds like it might be a problem with the render farm, does it happen in the same place every time?

in the render passes there is a pass called VR DRBucket, load this one and do a test rendering, it will tell you what render node or nodes are giving you the error. then you can see if it is memory related, or there is some path missing.

Light cache uses lot of RAM so check your memory usage too.

3 things to check:

 

1. make sure all the PCs you are DRing from can read the path you have your assets in. Repath anything on your C drive to a shared drive.

2. make sure you have correct permissions for that directory. Some rendernodes may have different permissions for shared drives.

3. make sure all DR servers have had 1 backburner job run them through as a server at least once (http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY3/Distributed+Rendering)
