Animation rendering

Hi!

I'm trying to render a simple animation with almost stationary camera movement(camera dollies a little, then stops) and 2 small moving objects using V-ray. I heard good way to do it is using Irridiance map prepass, but is it really faster ? i mean what's the difference if it's rendering IM separately or berfore each frame, since IM prepass takes some time render too. If you have any experience in that feedback would be appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

You should use IR & LC when rendering animations, when you have moving objects in your animation you have to set IR mode to prepass or the objects will have artifacts. Rendering out the prepass will take a lot more time than if you were just using the multiframe incramental setting. The other option you have is using Brute force, with Vray 3 this is much quicker than with previous versions.

I'm using IR and LC, and can't agree with you on using brte force, even in Vray 3.2 it's still pretty time consuming.

I didn't say BF was faster than IR I was just pointing out that it's another viable option. Having said that you need to take into account how long it will take you to render out the prepass, in some cases BF can be faster.

I'll take that into account. Thanks a lot for your time.
