martinvokaty
Hi, warning a V-ray noob here. Soo I started to learn V-ray. I modeled my house in Archicad, exported it to the 3ds Max and then started to do something with that. But when I render my house I see the geometry lines from Archicad so I dont know how get them out. Any ideas? Thank you for your answers.
inpow watir
i have no knowledge of archicad, but did you use v-ray material there?
Francisco Penaloza
inside the shader Edge tex you need to un-check "show subtriangles" or "hidden edges" if those line still show you may have to re build those areas. Those geometries are showing that way because some triangulation problem or translation between software.
Nicolai Bongard
The archicad export to 3ds is usually not all that awesome. You should check your geometry to look for loose edges, and fix them where necessary. They may be the cause of your lines appearing.
martinvokaty
Thanks for responds. I think I have used global switches and than override mlt. and I used basic V-ray mat. Can you plese tell me where to find ''the shader Edge''? I can't find it anywhere. Thanks you very much.
Nicolai Bongard
If you go to your render settings, find global switches, then override material, there should be a material in the "button" thingy below. Click and drag that into your material editor. In the diffuse channel of that material there should be a vray edges tex shader. When you go "into" that shader you should do what Francisco said. EDIT: also when you click and drag make sure you select instance instead of copy. That way, whenever you edit the material in the material editor, you also edit the map in the override. If you select copy you end up with two different materials, thus your changes will not have an effect on your render.
