Prisa
Hello, I find it hard to solve this, does anyone know why it is blurring the final .JPG format after saving from V-Ray Frame buffer? 10X a lot! Andreea
Nicolai Bongard
Perhaps you are saving with low quality settings? At least on some file formats you can press a settings box on the save menu and select different options. Its been a while since i saved anything in jpg, so i do not remember if it is there for that format.
simonm
Try saving is as a 16bit TIF. Jpeg is a fairly compressed format. Chris MacDonald
This isn't a VRay issue, it's a 3DS max issue. Their JPEG conversion is absolute sh*te, always has been. I'm not sure why it should lose so much quality, because it doesn't when you save out as a JPEG from photoshop.

Ive not noticed Max having an issue saving out jpgs. I save animation element frames as jpg12 because they are practically loss-less and small file size. Beauty pass can be saved as EXR and everything else jpg. 16 bit TIFF is also good. Lossless and keeps a lot of range.

I think whatever algorithm it is they use to compress the image is awful.
Morne Erasmus
Perhaps you are saving with low quality settings?. Sounds about right. Max lets you save jpg with compression quality 0 to 100 (100=high quality, 1=low) Photoshop has the same thing when you save a jpg but their numbers are from 1 to
Chris MacDonald
Yeah but if you do a side by side comparison, photoshop shits all over the max jpg from a great height.
