JamesTaylor
there are no shadows which ground objects and add depth to the image. make sure shadows are switched on in the lights modifier panel and in the render dialog box
Fran
Hi Acheng, What software are you using? So many suggestions, so little time...
pmanahan
Your chairs are to cube like, chamfer the edges. You show three chairs on each side of the table and you only need two on each side. The yellow lights on the walls don't look very good, they need more detail the color is not very appealing. The view looking at the entrance, you show two small plants on the floor. I would get rid of the one by the corner because it looks like it would be kicked and the other in the corner behind the table, I would make that one bigger, like a lot bigger. Put a door knob on your front door. Keep working on your lighting and keep looking at images here for reference. pmanahan
Acheng
thank alot. yes, i also very confuse about the chair and table's shadow. Why it wont cast shodow? i put 1 ies sky and did turn on the shadow opt. i just wont appear. it was done using 3ds max 6/radiosity. for the plant; i hate it too, but i don't have any plant model to put on. thank, the table and chair is too hard and cube. Maybe next time i should chamfer it alot. i will keep posting. keep it up.
Fran
Hi Acheng, To improve the image, you can try adjusting the Reflectance values of your materials to real-world levels. There is a basic guideline in the max help file. Enable display of Reflectance values in the Material Editor from the Customization->Preferences menu in the Radiosity tab. If you use Architectural Materials, the value will turn red if it is too high for the template you have chosen. Unless you plan to use Regathering, you need to decrease your mesh size and increase initial quality.
