JHalton
Hi guys, Y'know when you zoom with the mouse wheel it heads towards an object and slows down and eventually stops, is there a way to stop this happening and what is it called? Thanks in advanced. Dan
oluv
i am not of big help, because i also fight around with this, but i ensure you that with most other 3d-programs you have the same problem, like rhino, lightscape and others. i guess the program defines some kind of temporary midpoint of the scene and if you zoom in and come close to this point the zoom stops. a simple work around in 3ds max for me is that i combine it with walk-mode somehow. so if it doesn't zoom in more, i press cursor up to move closer. another way would be that you turn around 180 degrees and zoom out again from this point, now if you turn around 180 degrees back again, you can continue your zoom. i hope others come with better solutions though
JHalton
Solved by my collegue. Hold Ctrl & Alt and middle mouse button and you can zoom in and out by moving the mouse forwards and backwards. Dan
