Casey Hawley
I don't have a lot of time to search the forums right now, and for some reason I am unable to post in the Tips, Techniques, and FAQ forum. Anyway, I'm looking for CG techniques for doing more concept looking work. I have a client who says the 'photo-real' renderings look too final and they want something more like the watercolor or sketchy types of renderings for quick concepts. I don't do hand drawing, so I'm wondering if there are any techniques out there for doing what they want, or close to it, using 3d Max and Photoshop. RyderSK
All you need to start from Archviz point is here for illustrative look, there aren't many more of such similar tutorials: http://vyonyx.com/tutorials/ Otherwise, any mattepaiting series like the ones from Gnomon are good. Virgil Johnson
Not sure if this would work for for you but going the NPR route seems to be the most popular in my world. Lots of different ideas illustrated by Gary Davis so you might want to push through the entire video for different approaches. virgil
