alexburlakov
Hello, I am trying to set up material for leafs but have some issues. I put a mask for transperancy and it works fine, but when I add reflection layer masked area becomes visible as a light transparent color. Does anybody know how to fix it? Thanks Alex
mowstn
Apply a reflection map that is black where your leaf ends and put it in reflection map slot.
Corey Beaulieu
or simply use a standard "mask" map to clip your reflection before plugging it into your material.
mowstn
"plugging" sadly isn't possible with v-ray for sketchup - no node based mat editor. cheers.
Corey Beaulieu
My mistake.... I use the "Today's Posts" instead of the individual forum topics. I missed that you are working in Sketchup.
yehonatanfrandzel
I'm facing the same problem of not being able to mask reflections completely... Did you ever find a solution?
yehonatanfrandzel
I think I've figured it out! (seconds after posting the above question, but hours after searching for how to do this correctly ). 1. Under reflection map with TexFresnel chosen - Under the map for (reflection) IOR enter your transparency mask image. (don't touch refraction IOR) 2. change the color of Perpendicular to something other than white if you wish to reduce the reflection. Can also be done without the Fresnel: 1. Under the map for reflections choose TexBitmap. Enter your mask image in there. 2. change the amount of reflection by changing the number beside the map. Hope this helps someone
ch1le
I have a similar issue with getting material ID pass, sadly, clipped areas are some funky colour and i cant get good selections. A fix would be much appreciated.
