What's the point of having a "insert video" feature if it just hyperlinks?

I see the icon, I paste the youtube link, it comes up just as a hyperlink.

 

Can somebody explain this please?

Sometimes you need the full youtube address, not the short one. Also, use "http" instead of "https" and see if that helps as well.

 

I generally just use bbcode to insert videos as it's easier to copy and paste. Just remove the * from the sample code below. If you are using vimeo, just replace "youtube" with vimeo.
