Stephen Thomas
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3089388/ I just watched this documentary film and would highly recommend it to all of you. It follows Tim Jenison (inventor of Lightwave3d) on his journey to paint a Vermeer and prove his theory on how the Dutch master managed to capture light so realistically. A bit of a geek-fest, but this is the right place for that, right?

John Dollus
Is this a rehash of the 2001 Vermeer: Master of Light which used Maya at the time to recreate one of Vermeer's scenes?

Stephen Thomas
Is this a rehash of the 2001 Vermeer: Master of Light which used Maya at the time to recreate one of Vermeer's scenes? This is more about trying to work out the technical aspects of production. And that someone with no artistic training could basically get very close to the original using this technique. So maybe Vermeer was more of a technician and innovator rather than just a gifted artist.
