Thanks The RGBs button allows you to "view" the 32bit framebuffer linear image as if it were an 8bit image with gamma, but when you save it out you still have the choice, so you have to select the desired gamma and format settings in the save dialogue. For example: .EXR with gamma 1.0 (for linear for post production), or .jpg with gamma 2.2 for straight up image. This explanation may not be as good as is could be, but I hope it helps.
