A career in Arch Viz

I don't think it's beneficial, as a professional community, to look down condescendingly on people who are at a different level than you.

True, and I'm sure most of us feel this way.

The thing that bothers me about true PR is that if it's truly successful your individual stamp disappears and it's hard to tell one from another unless you're a super studio with a unique signature style.

There seems to be spectrum of different attitudes concerning the scope, aesthetics, and value of Arch-Viz; from very commercially minded work, to pushing the boundaries of art, and everything in between. I think that people who posses a particularly artistic streak, can often be capable of imposing their style on the product, without sacrificing it's commercial function. But of course, this depends very much on the culture of the workplace and the clients.

Yes, you could use library assets all day long and still be creative, no doubt, and modelling everything is rarely efficient or necessary.

Meanwhile, Individual style is often going to be subverted by a lack of technical competence in learners, so it is healthy to have individuality being nurtured, (severe commercial restraints withstanding).

Freelancers may well be able to pick and choose the jobs that suit there creative sensibility, if not always, at least to a degree. The bigger the infrastructure the more committed you are to "bringing in the bread", I suppose.
