stayinwonderland Posted January 9, 2016 Share Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) Here's just one example of the kind of displacement (scroll to 'depth'): I think Arroway do some nice ones in their gravel pack, but pretty bad displacements in their stones/walls. Just wondered if there were some known techniques for avoiding things getting lumpy/spiky? Might even be a baking thing. Nic H Posted January 9, 2016 Share Posted January 9, 2016 those RDT are pretty good but do go 'spikey' if you push them past the suggested range they use 16bit displacement maps which combined with high settings in a 2D or 3D vray displacement mod work well and render very fast (that said i havent got them looking as good as the examples yet) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
