dande
I'm a mental ray user. I have a quick VRay question. The glare in MR is not physically correct, it is illustrative. I presume Vray glare is the same
Chris MacDonald
Yep, neither are physically correct. To my knowledge Maxwell is the only one that actually simulates glare, etc? I think it's called simulens.
dande
Thanks Chris. I'll have to look into that Dan
Chris MacDonald
Do you really require simulated glare? The VRay Lens Effects are pretty good, and can be used with Mental Ray.
dande
I have some images to do for a solar farm. I'm just wondering would it be possible to look at glint and glare for a glint and glare study. My feeling is it isn't but I'd thought I'd throw it out there and see what people think. Chris MacDonald
Fair enough, keep in mind that glare is more prevalent in camera lenses than the human eye - you don't want to end up convincing people that it will be a bigger problem than it will be in reality. dande
Thanks. That something I haven't thought of
John Dollus
You will need to use real lighting analysis software for such things. Vray/mental ray etc just make pretty pictures. Check AGI32
