Corey Beaulieu
SP1 had listed groups as lagging in the viewport and they "addressed" it, but I have never experienced this. Do you have the updated service pack?
Josef Wienerroither
Is this with SP2 installed ? anyways... This is a warning call to all who installed 3ds Max 2016 SP2 ! Sadly SP2 introduced a really serious core issue with objects in hierarchies ( which groups are internally) : linking or unlinking an object into/from a hierarchy in SP2 causes the object transform to flip. This leads to the object jumping arround when linked or unlinked. This has all sort of implications and the most serious issue is that it can break your hierarchy without you really noticing. I found some kind of workarround which might(might not work for some situations: Toggling one of the "move" checkboxes in the objects hierarchy->inherit rollout TWO TIMES eventually fixes the object orientation. But toggling this might lead to other side effects in complex hierarchies... So if you are working with hierarchies ( and groups ) i would recommend uninstalling SP2 or not install it at first hand, until the issue is fixed by Autodesk. Let's all pray for a hotfix, as this is really a serious issue... Edited January 15, 2016 by spacefrog
