Tim Nelson
This just started happening recently... When I go to trim or extend a line, it doesn't extend/trim to the nearest line - it will go to some point before the nearest line as if there are lots of imaginary or hidden lines in between the real one. Has anybody had this happen before? It's driving me crazy. Really slowing me down.
Tim Nelson
For example.... The red lines started off at the vertical green line on the left. I used the extend command, selected all the cyan lines on the right to extend to. Then I used the fence command to extend them all at once. As you can see, it gave me some weird curve looking profile that resembles nothing else I have been working with. That shouldn't be happening! They should have all been exteded to the cyan profile. And its not just this drawing either. Its been doing this on all drawing files.

After selecting the objects & hitting enter, you are prompted to choose to select object to trim with the following options (Project/Edge/Undo). Choose Edge and then choose No extend. This will solve your problem. Choosing Extend will make all lines as imaginary edges.
Tim Nelson
Hey thank you so much! The funny part was that I just figured this out and was about to post my findings, but you beat me to it! I have no idea how that got switched in the first place, but at least its fixed now. Thanks again.....case closed.
MJL Imaging
just another fix, if you type "EDGEMODE" at the command line, and set it to 0 (zero) that'll work too.
