darkoivic
Hi guys, I have a small problem, I have a plane mapped with a vray light material with a mask on a opacity channel. Strangely, the reflection in water near-by shows my original tiff that I have used as a map for my light mat, as if the opacity mask is not included. I imagine that it's just a question of checking some basic settings, but I have no idea what or where to look at. please help here is my situation : http://s8.postimg.org/69s9tawgl/water.jpg
darkoivic
anyone?
cg_Butler
It would help to see the material and the object you are talking about. But going by what you said you could try telling the plane not to be visible to reflections in the object properties. I assume in your rendering the bright white blob is the problematic thing you are trying to remove?
Chris MacDonald
Try doing the same in a normal, self illuminated vray material and see if it works?
Tommy L
whats the reflection/refraction override depth (global settings) set to? If its override is set to 1 then raise it... could also be the threshold in the water material is set to 1.
Francisco Penaloza
I would go with a regular V Ray material, and crank the RGB output of the diffuse image.
darkoivic
I assume in your rendering the bright white blob is the problematic thing you are trying to remove? actually no, the blob is just fine, I am talking about the white plane that can be seen around the reflecting figure! I would go with a regular V Ray material, and crank the RGB output of the diffuse image. I have tried to do this, but in the end I don't get nice colors and it easily gets burned, so I used a vray light mat to just make it brighter and it works great for me, just that then, I get this white plane reflection in the water and I don't know how to get rid of it. here is the material that I am using. Chris MacDonald
The Vray Material has a slot for self illumination. Try that, as per my previous post.
