M V
I came across this website and technology, which is really very cool. I am wondering if anyone knows a way to make such and experience using 360 renderings. Whats your favorite software for making your 360s into something that puts them into an interactive format? I have used Pano2VR. http://matterport.com/ http://www.walkintour.com/?gclid=CjwKEAiA7f-yBRDAgdv4jZ-78TwSJAA_WdMajCko2GgN8sU7zQ-aXztdaC9ZTuej0D2-vJNsh6uirxoCQgHw_wcB#!pricing/c1bdy
Chris MacDonald
Pano2VR is capable of that?
Scott Schroeder
I think krpano (http://krpano.com/) has much more overall support. Pano2VR seems like it has one guy developing for it in his spare time. krpano has better support for Google cardboard and Gear VR.
M V
Pano2VR is capable of that? No, Pano2VR is pretty limited. I have not seen anything that will do what Matterport does using 360 renderings.
Devin Johnston
Matterport takes pictures of a space and stitches them together to create a rough 3d model of that space that you can navigate through. It's similar to Autodesks 123D app and it's something I looked into because I had a client that was interested in doing this with renderings. Unfortunately there's nothing like Matterport out there for 3d scenes and it doesn't look like the Matterport system works with anything but their camera setup. If anyone knows of something like this for the 3d world I'd love to hear about it.
Chris MacDonald
Ignore the "backface cull" 3D model that is at the start (which doesn't look great), all you're getting is the standard 360 viewer - the only marketable difference being that they have created "hotspots" at locations a lot, lot closer than you would usually get, giving the illusion that you're navigating a 3D space. Francisco Penaloza
It looks like the same tech of Google, street views. a 3d environment linked to 360 photography. Pretty cool. I read some time some one doing something similar with Mari and Nuke, but a software off the shelf now. I don't think there is other. KRPano is as close it get, we use it, and it works pretty good. M V
Does anyone have any tools or toys you have used to create interactive experiences, whether it be from 360s or a real time walk-thru. I know that Unreal Engine comes to mind, but I am just looking at all options.
Scott Schroeder
Use Krpano or Pano2VR if you want to use panorama's rendered from Max.

CliveG
You can also load your 360 pano onto an Ipad or Iphone (bigger the better though) and using the gyroscope - standing in an undeveloped space, see the proposed developed space on screen as you swing the Ipad around the room. If you see what I mean. Clients quite like the "hands on" thing.

If you see what I mean. Clients quite like the "hands on" thing. I do this with littlstar app and my Unreal Engine 360pano renderings. But the solution OP want is a way to link the panos, so it almost look as if you could navigate within the scene. Might just create multiple separate panos, not sure if the transition (ugly as well) is really worth the trouble.
Trick
I guess PromenAdd (http://www.promenadd.com) does exactly what you want with 3D renderings from 3dsMax, just like Matterport does with photos. It also includes the "animation" in between as rendered panos in configurable extra steps and even a lower resolution.
Devin Johnston
Promenadd looks just like Pano2VR except it's got a Max interface.
Amen
I can strongly recommend Panotour Pro http://www.kolor.com/panotour/panotour-features/ It builds on krpano but makes it very easy to use. You can do 3d panoramas. It has everything you need for a panorama tour. It is stable and easy and does what it is supposed to do.
M V
Just came across these little bad boys too, which looks like cutting edge stuff. Clients seem love it because its YouTube and easy to share and embed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?amp;v=AY5vQ0Pm1WE

Trick
Promenadd looks just like Pano2VR except it's got a Max interface. Didn't know Pano2VR supports animations between panos. Thought it only does a zoom in on the next pano. The VR movies in the previous post can be rendered with PromenAdd too. You can even do VR movies straight from VRay 3 with stereoscopic support for Oculus. Like riding in a touring car while looking around. Render times are about the same as rendering in 4K. neil poppleton
Check out one of our 360 VR animations : We render equirectangular 4000 x 2000 frames from 3dsmax - vray, export from premiere and upload to youtube which has the capability to let you view the 360 VR. I note some internet browsers are not supported. As Chris mentions above , view on your smart phoe which utilises the gryoscope, pretty cool. philippelamoureux
A guy made a 4k pano video with unreal engine 4. He even made a 8k version and it's in stereo but it's not gonna work on youtube yet. Source : https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?72296-360-StereoPano-Export-Method&highlight=360+pano+video I don't think VR movie where you are on a rail are interesting tho. I think static 360 pano with gyro is good or full VR with a game engine where you decide where to move. Otherwise it's like a fake rollercoaster ride inside a house...feels weird and you don't really have the time to see the details. tianxiaowang1
Hi, I see this post is a little bit older but if you are looking for a tool to create 100% interactive experiences, you should look at BIMmotion http://twinmotion.abvent.com/bimmotion/ It's a free, self-executable file (mono or stereoscopic) generated from Twinmotion that includes your project model and the Twinmotion engine. The idea is that you are in a full real-time scene, you can decide where to move, where to look at without needing any other application.
kriskar
The best platform of this kind I know is theViewer.co You can make tours online in minutes and then share and view on the web, Android, iOS and GearVR apps. Its super easy to use and good quality online or offline, VR or non-VR See example here http://theviewer.co/share/theConstruct/7c51a0e0-8244-40cc-87ce-43050f8cc598 More info at http://theConstruct.co/beta
