Can anyone recomend a place to get free architectural drawings/reference materials?

Hi All

 

I am a 3D artist from the VFX/Post world trying to expand my portfolio into Arch Viz. Can anyone recommend a place where I can find nice reference material and/or architectural drawings that I can use for creating some nice portfolio work?

I bought this book recently with the intent to re-imagine some of the subjects:

I like perusing archdaily for finding personal skill-building projects also. Most projects shown there have raster images of the plans, which is a good representation of a median case that someone in the arch viz industry would be asked to work from. Arguably, even being provided a bad Revit model in many instances is a worse starting point than a good set of raster plans.

 

Not sure what is considered proper etiquette when using a published design for a portfolio piece, but I feel at the least, giving credit is necessary if using the design verbatim. Hard to say how far that extends since the source material is publicly available and the end result would be your own interpretation. How does this work for artists who reproduce real-world design in oil/acrylic/watercolor? I do not know.

This sites has complete scenes lit and mapped that you can alter and make your own.

 

Some of the material is quite elaborate.
