Larissa Holderness
Probably most of you have seen the ads on various 3D forums that advertise 3DSM being $123/month. However, when I click on the ad, it shows up as being $185/month. How does one go about getting the $123/month pricing?
Vince Paske
The math works out for the three year subscription - $4,410.00/36 months. It is a little misleading on their behalf if those ads don't mention "with a fully paid for three year plan".
Larissa Holderness
Oh. I zoomed in on the hard to read white text ... and you are correct. I will delete this thread soon. Thank you!
heni30
I just spoke with someone at Trinity Animation resellers and was told these are the rates: http://www.autodesk.com/products/3ds-max/subscribe So a one year commitment would be $122.50. The monthly rate of $185 would allow you to log on only when you are using it. I'm imagining a multi year commitment would allow you protection from rate increases during that period. Promotion going on till Apr 22nd - 5% off 2 year plan; 10% off 3 year plan Edited February 18, 2016 by heni30
philippelamoureux
I guess it's not THAT bad. About 1500$CAD for a year. The price of 1 rendering. Vray and Octane needs to implement a subscription model like Corona asap imo. I'd prefer to switch to Blender but the interface is too confusing and I would lose many useful plugins and scripts :-(

SkylineArch
I know a lot of people dislike SketchUp for some reason, but Vray for SketchUp is a great solution. It has most of the capabilities as Max and SketchUp for ArchViz at a fraction of the cost, and it's much faster. Once you get a library built up of materials and components you cut the time down even further. Vray materials are stored and applied just like SketchUp's native materials.
