Fur/Hair

Hi guys!

I have modelled a character, and i want to create hair on it, but here is the problem.

Using Vrayfur and 3dsmax's hair/ fur, i get much more hair where there is more topology, like on the fingers and ears i have crazy amount of hair, but places like stomach are almost bald..What would be the best way to create even layer of hair through whole mesh, or what am i missing ?

Thanks in advance!

My best guess is to take a look at how it's being distributed?

Distribution – determines the density of strands over the source object:

Per face – specifies the number of fur strands per face of the source object. Every face will generate the specified number of fur strands.

Per area – the number of strands per squared scene unit. For example, if the the system units are in meters, this parameter specifies the desired number of strands per square meter; if the system units are centimeters, it specifies the number of strands per square centimeter and so on. The area of the triangle faces (which is used to compute the number of strands for each face) is taken at the frame, specified by the Reference frame parameter. Every triangle face has at least one strand.

Sounds to me like you need it to be per area, not per face?

Thanks for the suggestion, Chris.

I tried doing it per area, and played around with Ref.frame slider, but it still generates longer hairs where there is more and tighter topology, and it's still un-even.
