christosviskadourakis
Hello, I cannot find the reason my background image is black on the vraydirt (it is an extratext element with vraydirt on it). I see my background image through glass but I excluded the glass's geometry from the vraydirt. It is not like it applies vraydirt on the glass (there is no dirt on the perimeter of the window for example) but it is totally black. The only way to see white is to make visible (on render) my vray dome light (with an hdri on it). But the again the area where it should be white, it is white till the horizon, then it is black (below the horizon). I turned to invisible my vray dome light to show up my background image on the render, otherwise the hdri image it was shown. Christos
christosviskadourakis
Ok the solution was to not exclude the glass geometry from vray dirt. Just let it be there, it will be white in the middle and it will have a dirt on the perimeter of the window. I write down cause someone might search for it one day. But what can you do if, for example, you have balcony and some chairs and table on it. The view from the window will be some the background image and some from the furniture of the balcony. So you have to exclude the glass's geometry in order to see some dirt on the furniture of the balcony...So what you do for the black background image you have there?
