christosviskadourakis
Am I doing something wrong? Because multitexture script doesn't work on the "ranbomize by object" mode in 3ds max 2015. For example I have my multitexture material ready and then I play this material to 3 different boxes but it applies only one material to all the objects I choose. Chris MacDonald
It works on material ID's, so if they all have the same material ID they will all have the same material. Presumably the "by object" mode is the same, in that it requires all the objects to have different object ID's. I often use a "material by element" modifier to randomize the ID's. christosviskadourakis
I will try to explain my issue. I want to make some roof tiles and I have the model and 4 different textures for randomization. I attached the tiles as one object and I run the UniqueMaterialID script (from CG-Source, the same site with the multipleTexture script). I then applied the multitexture material I made, but without success. I then made a Multi/Sub Object material and I included inside of it 4 different materials (because I have 4 different textures) and IT WORKED. The tiles got random textures. The reason I want to use the multitexture script is because of the saturation etc. Any idea why one works and the other doesn't? *I used the material ID random option for multitexture this time. Chris MacDonald
Use a "material by element" modifier instead of the UniqueMaterialID script. See if that works.

Again, It works for the Multi/Sub object material but not for the multitexture
Nicolai Bongard
The multitexture has different modes. Element, material id or bercontile i think are the three options, make sure it is set to the right one!

I have used mutitexture in the past for a floor made by floor generator and it was working fine
Chris MacDonald
Just out of curiousity, are these seperate objects or one editable poly/mesh?
