loredanastroe
Hello everyone! I updated my interior scene in 3ds max, with some extra objects and when I tried to render the image, it turned out super overexposed and with no texture. (attached) Even if i turn off all the lighting in the scene, the result is the same. (How is that possible?) Checked all the geometry, exposure control and gamma(2.2) as well as the Physical camera settings. (i'm rendering the camera view, not the perspective) I used irradiance map and light cache for GI and Exponential Color mapping. During the rendering process, it looks like it's not taking the time to properly building light cache, although i guess there's not much to build if there are no textures in the final image... I attached a rough test render i did before adding the extra stuff, with the same settings and it rendered all the textures. * using 3ds max 2016 and vray3.2. Please let me know if you have any ideas about what is causing this! Thank you for your time!
Chris MacDonald
Presumably you're using the new Physical Cam? Have you checked to see if the Physical Exposure Control is enabled in the environment rollout?
loredanastroe
Thank you for your answer, Chris! Yes, i'm using the new Physical camera and the Physical camera exposure control is active. What i completly don't understand is why does it keep rendering like this even if i turn off all lights in the scene(also uncheck Hidden lights), environment in vray is not on,no sun, No environment map and background color is set to black, as well as the ambient. Shouldn't the scene be black? Since i haven't tempered with any rendering settings in between the 2 renders, i believe it might have something to do with the objects i imported. Is that possible??? I used some Evermotion accesories as well as some 3d models from various producers sites.
jakubch
Have you tried to remove new objects and render to isolate the issue?
loredanastroe
Hi guys! Thank you for your time and answers! @Jakub - I used allot of accessories to furnish shelfs and so on, behind the scene that i showed above, so I wanted to isolate the problem without discarding all my changes and starting over. However, I fixed it by merging the scene into a new file without importing any lights. I also compared the settings with the new scene and still couldn't pinpoint the issue... :confused
Francisco Penaloza
some object libraries come with a light in the scene to preview the objects. Use your light listener and be sure you have control of all lights. Also it could be a self illuminated object, or even some self illuminate material that overwrite other material with similar name in your scene. Create a simple VRay material and use as material overwrite and do a test render, then you can focus only on lights, when everything looks fine, then use your scene material and adjust as need it.
