christosviskadourakis
Hello, I want to create some random book-papers randomly floating inside a room. So basically I was thinking of creating 5 paper models and then find a script or something which will randomly place (and multiple) the objects in the air. I know there are some scripts and some build-in tools in 3ds max but they are for video-animation production. I want to create a single image. Any ideas how to do it? Nicolai Bongard
3ds max has some nice particle tools you should check out. See if you can find some tutorials on pflow.
Corey Beaulieu
If it were me, someone with lower savvy in animation, I would check out the Cloth Modifier and use Wind. That may be too much though. You could also look at this script: http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/mcg/hyperclone
christosviskadourakis
Corey got my perspective. I want something simple to do the job. I am not interesting in physics accuracy at the moment.
Francisco Penaloza
pflow should work better.
michaelgolden
if nothing else, you can always use the soulburn transform randomizer. i use it for a million similar tasks. for you, create some level of density that you like, use random move, rotate, and scale transforms. then enable autokey, change the key frame, move everything down, then use the same random transforms, then pick a spot in the middle, enable motion blur, and voila.
