joshhodgson
I have a simple scene in 3DS it has a few proxies using forest pro (See images) it worked fine then all of a sudden the light cache WILL NOT RENDER (it takes about 3 hours before any pixels appear at all) Iv'e tried hiding objects and trying again to no avail the problem began after I added grass on the flat plane adjacent to the building. However deleting this grass and plane does not solve the problem! Im getting really P!ssed off now any help is really appreciated. only a small amount of displacement in the scene and deleting these objects made no difference deleting all proxies makes no difference either Edited March 13, 2016 by joshhodgson

Bruce Hart
Hey Josh Unless you are doing some kind of really detailed interior, there's no need to use a LC subdiv value of 3000. Try turning it down to the default of 1000 and increasing the Dynamic Mem Limit to 8000. (Assuming you have 16GB RAM or higher)
mattijsdebruin1
any double sided materials on the plants? Check those, see if thats the problems. Might be a good idea to check your materials.

Larissa Holderness
This is happening to me as well. Using a matoverride on everything except glass. LC is taking FOREVER on a scene that was rendering fine yesterday. Nothing has changed other than the day.....
Msamir
Merging to a new scene like Pixel man suggested would probably solve it.
rogue3d
try moving the camera an inch. sounds stupid. but it's worked in the past I have no idea why....... Here's a link to a Dynamic Memory Calculator based on RAM and OS. http://zdesigninfo.blogspot.com/2012/10/vray-dynamic-memory-limit-calculation.html
