davidgraham
Hi, I'm trying to render an animation sequence using Vray/3DS Max 2015 with a HDRI lighting on a dome light as my main lighting and reflection scheme but when I render a small test of Targas I see a lot of shadow movement, If I look at the Alpha I noticed it has color on the plane with lots of noise, I tried turning off atmospheric shadows, matte GI off on my plane, still shows up as grainy shadows? I think its the dome light that I cant control in the shadows, so I tried a Vray Sun to cast shadows but I get a light brown shadow? So tried a Vray plane light to cast shadows and I get no shadow? go's on and on. I'm loving the renderer but It driving me crazy. Im using a HQ car model that I want to use a flying car. My Vray Settings are: AA: Adaptive Sub Division 5 for tests and 25 for my final Linear Multiplier for color mapping sub-pixel on and clamp on 1.0 Affect Background ticked off, color and gamma set to 2.2 GI primary: brute force 20 GI secondary: Light cache 1000 One source light with HDRI locked on the dome light. andrewtejeda1
If you right click on your plane object (what ever you're casting shadows onto), there should be a vray properties tab. Open that and then check off receive GI.
