christosviskadourakis
Hello there, First of all, I would like to pay some tribute to Zaha Hadid. The biggest loss in the field of architecture for the last many years. Zaha belongs to the group of Le Cordusier, Frank Lloyd Wright etc, innovationers. Rest in peace. Back in my question now. Up until now, I was using vray Dirt through the ExtraTex Element to get the shadows on the corners. However, now, I want to use vrayDirt to create some grunge on windows but at the same time I want to use ExtraTex for the regular shadows to the rest of the scene (excluding windows with grunge). How does this works? Do I have to exclude the windows from ExtraTex element? Do vray Dirts overlap one on top of the other if I don't exlude them? Thanks Christos
John Dollus
i would add two different ExtraTex render elements. One for the window glass excluding everything else and another set to exclude the window glass. to me, that would be the quick and dirty approach (pun intended). You could also setup your glass material as a blendmtl using the vraydirt as the mix element and just render it in your base image and paint out the normal vraydirt element in that area you render as a pass. that'll work too.
