kentchuang
Hi guys, as the title suggests, for some reason my renders when saved as an EXR file in vray and opened in photoshop, look extremely washed out (compared with the render shown in the render box in vray). However, when I save the file as a TIF/JPEG/PNG in vray and open it in photoshop, it looks normal (when compared with the render shown in vray). Cheers
nejck
Might be a weird thing to say but you have tried adjusting the exposure is PS right? EXR are 32 bit files so they need to be handled accordingly...
Stephen Thomas
You need to save your .exr files with an output gamma of 1.0, if this isn't set in your gamma settings already you can override it in the file save dialogue.
Francisco Penaloza
what version of V Ray are you using? if you are in 3.x you should do nothing. Everything is adjusted already, V Ray and 3D Max are setup to create and save with the correct Gamma. just save your JPG or EXR it should save fine. If it is looking wrong is because you changed something. reset everything to default and it should work.
tmacbriar
Change the gamma in PS exposure to 1/2.2 for a quick fix. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

victorrodriguez
Hello, open your file in photoshop and >>> image/adjustments/exposure and degamma your EXR file to 0.4545... exr work in gamma 1.. for save directly on 3ds max you have to change output gamma.
