liorsturlesi
Hi, I'm i having some issued of flickering/pixeling on a very very simple scene of vray + some weird wave effect... I calculated the light cache first (Fly through mode) and then the IR (multiframe incremental), only after that rendered the sequence. Can you please tell me what is the source of the problem ? LC ? IR ? Sorry for not posting the video - the file uploader don't allow...
Francisco Penaloza
sorry but more information is need it, to start understanding your problem. what version of V Ray are you using? what time of animation are we talking here?? camera moving, objects moving? what do you mean as "wave effect" image moving?? shadows moving? You can upload your a video sample to youtube, or any video website and post the link here for us to understand your problem. you could use dropbox or any free storage service as well. liorsturlesi
Hi Francisco, I'm using the vray 3.30.05 with 3dsmax 2016. This is a 3 seconds animation of camera movement. No object movement at all - really a simple one. Wave affect appears on the floor box. here is the link: Thank you.
Chris MacDonald
That is caused by not having high enough antialiasing settings.

Chris MacDonald
Well a good starting point would be knowing your current settings and working from there.

Chris MacDonald
I'd definitely try a different filter to the mitchell netrevali (hate that filter anyway) because that's more than likely what's causing the issue as it's a sharpening filter. Try the Area filter with a 2 or 2.5 pixel width, or the Vray Lancosz filter (very similar to area but reduces moiré effects more).
Francisco Penaloza
Correct, do not use any hard sharpening filter when you do animations, is actually the oposite, you need soft filters, if you need sharper images, you need to render larger, any sharpening filter will create weird effects. Check your output image quality too, use EXR or PNG. JPG could work fine, but compression may give you some issues sometimes. In your video, I see a lot of compression, may be Youtube or it could be from your rendering is hard to tell, but for sure, try changing your filter algorithm and render at least half HD.
