Follow names for animation output png's

Hi,

I'm working on an animation and want the output frame buffer to give me follow numbered names for the saved frames, for example - frame001, frame002,frame003 and so on..

Is it possible ?

if you need custom frame padding, you can use a file renaming utility to remove a single character within the file name string to do what you need.

(ie. in the file renamer, specify to remove 1 character after the first 5 in your given string (frame0001 would then become frame001)

 

I could have sworn there used to be a field for specifying the frame padding within max but that may have been ages ago and it's since been removed.

 

why do you need custom frame padding? Seems odd to limit any animation length to 999 frames.
