Devin Johnston
I have a meeting with a prospective client this week, this is someone who responded to an email marketing piece I sent out so I've never spoken with them before. I'm wondering how you'd prepare for a meeting like this and if you think just having an array of renderings & animations is good enough. Normally I don't have this problem because I work by word of mouth so my clients are either past associates or acquaintances of people I already have a relationship with. Thanks! Justin Hunt
nothing to worry about, have your best images/animations etc on hand and chat, listen and trust your gut. You never know it may be the next best client , or the worst

Scott Schroeder
I'd look at their website to get to know them a bit more and prepare yourself with some questions. If needed, I have additional work pieces that are closely related to what the type of work they do. I would probably go as far as having a quick little cheat sheet/flowchart of your process so they know what to expect from you. You could keep this tucked away and if you need it, you can whip it out. Oh and lay off the broccoli, cheese and sauerkraut the night before. Always a good tip to not gas out your client. agnieszkaufnal
I would prepare the example pieces of what client is looking for - if they want a bright marketing pieces for masses or moody high end monochromes - it would be also better to discuss on their need on life examples. Also take something that showcases Your way of work like walkthrough, briefs etc. so the cient would get how much work is that so would be able to pay more / wait a bit longer for a better result - the more he would know about who You are and hiw You work the easier collaboration can be with him from the first meeting. Hope that would help
notamondayfan
Be friendly, chat, have a laugh. Chances are they've already seen your work, if they thought you were crap you wouldn't have got this far. Now it's about selling yourself and giving your potential client the confidence to buy into you. Oh and brush your teeth, no one sells with whiffy breath!
