Living Building

I haven't posted here in a long time (my career has taken some twists and turns), but I felt inclined to post some images of what we have in store for our new office in Sacramento. Our plans are to renovate a pretty dumpy building, but one that is in an up and coming area, into a certified Living Building.

If you aren't familiar with the International Living Future Institute or the Living Building Challenge you can check that out here http://living-future.org/lbc. Basically, Living Buildings have a net positive environmental impact by generating more energy than it uses, collecting all of the water that it needs, being able to treat all of its waste water on site, uses no hazardous chemicals in any of the building materials, and other environmentally conscience design features.

Attached are a couple of "before" photos of the building and some renderings that I did of what it will look like after it's done. Construction just started.
