jackmorgan1
Hi there, new to the forum, I have used sketchup for years with mostly VRay and Shaderlight renders. I'm thinking of new ways of presenting my design and i wondered if it would be possible to create something where viewers could look around using their phones, a bit like these 360 degree videos on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Facebook360/ A video would be brilliant,, but even a still picture you could look around in every direction woud be amazing and i was wondering if this was possible? Perhaps using the oculus rift and samsung s6/s7? Does anyone have any ideas how this could become a reality, from a fixed or moving position within a sketchup model? philippelamoureux
Directly form sketchup I doubt it. Vray, corona, unreal can do it tho! It can be seen with a simple cardboard. Do you want it in stereoscopic too? Corona and Vray can do it too! Maybe vray for sketchup allow it? A spherical render is huge in resolution, so making a video is going to take a while to render. jackmorgan1
So, how do i take a spherical render in VRay 2.0? And then the more important question i think, how do i make it so it can be viewed correctly on a phone? I presume i would need more software for that? Thanks for the help! philippelamoureux
for 360 panos : for 360 stereoscopic panos (static pov VR) : https://labs.chaosgroup.com/index.php/portfolio/guide-to-virtual-reality-2/ Now, i'm not sure you can do the stereo stuff with vray 2.0 Try to update to 3.3 because it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better! edgemaster
I tried the Google cardboard app the other day and it worked fine on importing 360 renderings. Just have to name first part with Pano_ as the prefix of the name for the app to the image. Just using my note 4 and it worked fine. I used Vray renderer and it was very easy just doing the camera override to 360 FOV. I purchased a set of goggles to insert my phone into and that was fun too. eddieisraelsky
Hi Guys! Spherical photographs are cool, but you can also make navigable experiences with your 3D/CAD model. By any chance have you checked out WakingApp's ENTiTi Creator? (http://www.wakingapp.com) With this software you can import your 3d models and be able to create amazing presentation in VR in no time, with no coding required. PM me if I can help you out

innerdream
Cool, thanks. So if I render my panorama Entiti can make the 360 viewable. Does it run on your servers and on any device? Cost? Thanks.
eddieisraelsky
Hi Robert, Correct. It runs on our servers. Currently Android/Cardboard/GearVR, iOS, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive are supported. No cost at the moment, eventually if you want a White Label App, we will be able to offer it for a price, but this isnt happening at this moment. Please let me know if you have any further questions
garydavis1
You can also do mono or stereoscopic 360 renders using the FREE plugin to 3ds Max called ProRender. https://radeon-prorender.github.io/index.html
