Nikolaos M
These results come from hwbot.org (user slinky-pc) and the cpu is a Xeon 2696 v4 (Engineering Sample, 22c/44t) with a max frequency of 2.9GHz. Here are some 6950X tests too from http://www.overclock.net/t/1599263/6950x-benchmarked. 1700cb at stock speeds (165cb single core), 1900 cb at 4.0GHz and ~2300cb at ~4.4GHz Quite impressive. I guess that with a mild oc like 4.1-4.2 a 2000cb score would be achievable. Temps at 4.4 seem too hot for 24/7 use (with a Corsair H105 for this specific test bench). numerobis
Yes i've seen this too. Quite disappointing IMO, especially the lower IPC and the cache overclocking. The voltage and temp for 4.5GHz is . But I think we'll have to wait for the retail chips and maybe then some months until we see some better chips as it was with Haswell-E ...and maybe wait for tests with some real water cooling. But even then i don't know if i would buy it at a price of ~1500€.
Andres Saarnak
This would be pretty nice upgrade for me. It would actually double my cb score (4930k cb1150), but I`m allright atm with my setup and occasional help from rebusfarm, so I would definitely think twice before buying unless price comes down. Chris MacDonald
that 2696v4 is what I'm looking into for a new render node.
