Windows image preview over network is slow.

Hello all, title says it all. One day it was fine then it wasnt. Bridge can preview images just as fast as always, anything using windows explorer has a substantial lag.

If I try to open an image in the default windows photo viewer before the thumbnails appear in explorer, then half the time it says the 'Image cannot be previewed because it is being edited in another program'.

 

Not sure how to troubleshoot this, Im beginning to thing Microsoft is sabotaging Window & as another forced upgrade to W10 tactic.

Bridge can because it creates a database file in every folder it goes into.

 

In windows this can be replicated using Indexing. Im not so savvy but can push you in the right direction, ask you IT team to setup indexing on the server where your textures are. This will solve the lag.
