heni30
client wants to get cad elevations directly from a max model. do-able??? Edited June 10, 2016 by heni30
Chris MacDonald
Not in the traditional sense - i.e. rendering it. You could export the model as a .dwg/DXF and open it in autocad and set the views to left/right/front/back, etc. You could export the model to Sketchup and export flat elevations directly to .dwg there, but they will require scaling correctly once in autocad. heni30
Yeah, that's what I told him -> .dwg -> set to hidden line view -> duplicate 4 times and rotate models to L/R/F/B. Can those be converted to 2D? Will the 3d stuff always be lurking behind?
Stephen Thomas
This might be worth a try: http://www.cad-addict.com/2009/05/autocad-convert-3d-model-into-2d.html

Francisco Penaloza
Why clients are so cheap, always trying to get the most out of what they barely pay!. As mentioned, export to Sketchup, check scales and geometry, then from sketchup export to layout, and you can get lots of DWG plans.
