manelreig
Could somebody explain me the "Glossy Effects" tab included on the "General Switches" of V-Ray 2.0 for Sketchup? I don't understand what it does, and if it should be checked or unchecked for high quality renders. image attached Thank you very much!
Corey Beaulieu
A "Glossy" effect is created when you lower the Glossiness parameter in either the Reflection or Refraction section of a vray material below 1.0. Doing this causes blurry reflections/refractions and can take much longer to resolve/render. Lowering the value is extremely common for realistic materials, but if you are test rendering with a different focus, you may want to un-tick this option in order to speed things up a bit. For high quality finals and tests renders where you are observing materials, you will want this ticked on. Edited June 13, 2016 by CoreyMBeaulieu grammar....oof.
