Francisco Penaloza
First, there is a free update for paid customers of V Ray, latest version is 3.4.02 This one has a new feature called denoiser. It will help you a lot. Second, check your probabilistic lights values, always set it to the same amount of lights in your scene. Or just turn it off, but it help to render a little faster. 30/30 for IRR is very low. set to default medium 70/20 ot 70/50 and test again. rehankhalil2
Thank You sir, 1- can you tell me where to download Vray Denoiser Plugin. 2- Noise reduce, but still not good. when i used medium 70/50 IRR. Please reply me. Thank you again sir.
Francisco Penaloza
Denoiser is a new pass that come with V Ray 3.4 it is a free upgrade to owners of 3.3. If you go to default values on VRay, eather 3.3 or 3.4 with antialising 1-24 and IRR medium and LC to 1500 or so, you should get a more cleaner image. Guest dialog
Uncheck probablistic lighting... might fix the issue. IES lights can sometimes be noisy as well
jasminepeterson
I've been using Mental Ray for 9+ years, Vray for a few months and I will never go back, it's FAR FAR superior given the results you can achieve.. although the noise problem is getting to me.. I just don't know the rendering engine well enough yet. This tutorial unfortunately contains everything i've already tried and i'm still struggling. Couple of quick fixes for noise, but the one i see for most people just starting out is the "probabilistic lights" checkbox is enabled. Try disabling this. If you still get noise then it is more than likely your render settings. Materials that are VRaLightMtl will also add considerable amount of noise to your scene. inpow watir
Thank You. now image is Good without noise with short time. Special Thank Sir,. I guessed that is why they introduced a new de-noiser pass along with the new adaptive algorithm

As a rule of thumb, always set the number for probabilistic lights to the same number of lights in your scene. Default is 16, if you have less than that, it won't make any difference. When you have higher number of lights, 20, 50, 100 or more, then adjust probabilistic lights accordingly, this will really increase your rendering speed. VRay light materials are not optimized like Corona light Materials, so they produce extra noise when used with direct light option. If you leave that check box off, it should not give you noise, only increase the amount of ambient lighting.

See the attached... as you can see with the checkbox unchecked, it gives you considerable amount of noise vs converting the source to a mesh light. Francisco Penaloza
Well I understand that the first post was about IRR and LC, in that case, what I said still apply. If you are rendering Brute force, you'll get noise. Light material is not considered as light per say, so if you check the direct light, then it will sample as a light. It may render even faster. sigh... V-Ray and all it twinks :/
James Vella
Ive got some pretty solid vray render settings for most situations, noise free you can see here (not sure how 3.4 affects this since im using corona now); http://jamesvella.blogspot.com.au/p/rayfire-multitexture-render-settings.html

James Vella
Prefer Corona over Vray for archviz. Doesnt give you as many elements for post but the 3D lighting is much more appeasing. The matte pass is still a bit difficult to get working the way I expect but still prefer it so far. I also like the fact Corona you dont adjust any subdivs or render settings (unless you turn on denoiser, its a good idea). Vray is hot on its heels in this regard, but for simplicity - Corona. Nic H
you can use vray like that with progressive. or with bucket and just adjust the noise threshold
