Changing to GPU

Hi,

 

I´m thinkng changing to GPU eender too. I just need to plan how I´m doing this in next months to make right decisions. I google it and I didn´t find solutions.

 

Well. I got a 4770 with Gigabyte Z87-HD3 and a GTX 970. I´m planning buy a 1070 next month, another 1070 next semester and going on...

 

Well, the Z87-HD3 Has:

- 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)

- 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4)

- 2 x PCI slots

- 2 x PCI Express x1 slots

 

How many cards can I cluster in this mobo? The adaptors from PCIx1 to PCIx16 will work and decrease speed of render? (I already know the loading speed to memory will be compromised only a few seconds).
